Role Description

The Technical QA Lead is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of quality assurance within software development projects. This role involves leading QA teams, developing automated test frameworks, and ensuring the highest standards of software quality through rigorous testing processes and strategies

Key Responsibilities

  • The technical QA Lead will partner with multiple technical teams, including the Data team, to initiate, design, manage, and deliver key QA and Data Quality components and projects.
  • The QA Lead will have a full understanding of the QA requirements throughout each phase of a project.
  • The projects may include implementation of QA controls, data reporting, and data quality foundations.
  • The QA Lead will assist with QA processes, conversion of project specifications into test plans, and manage the QA execution activities from start to finish.
  • Must have experience with work management tools (Jira, DevOps, Confluence, Asana, etc.) along with data governance and data quality management tools (Collibra, Monte Carlo, etc.).
  • This is a hands-on QA Lead position within a Data and Analytics organization.
  • Develop tools, best practices, and documentation for QA team.
  • Manage QA activities and ensure on time delivery of QA workstreams.
  • Assist in the formalization of standard QA processes.
  • Assess project specifications and convert into test plans.
  • Apply QA background and strong data querying skills to interrogate data, assess current states, and knowledgeably communicate issues, opportunities, and data realities.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement and promote team contribution towards innovative ideas.
  • Facilitate weekly sessions with key stakeholders to define QA scope, goals, resource allocation, and schedules.

Qualifications/Skills

  • 7-10+ years of technical QA experience.
  • 2-5 years of QA project leadership experience.
  • Proven experience as a QA team lead with the ability to manage and provide direction.
  • Capable of effectively managing multiple QA projects simultaneously.
  • Strong SQL skills are required.
  • Strong knowledge of data management and different modern data technologies in cloud.
  • Ability to understand the data, recognize issues within the data, contribute to solutioning, and support testing efforts.
  • UI/UX experience is a plus
  • Experience using visual tools to ensure transparency in tracking key QA milestones.
  • Experience with various project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Hybrid).
  • Management of QA and Development resources in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Process oriented and highly organized.
  • BA/BS degree required. Degree in Computer Science is preferred.
